Who do you think you are? – Establish your self-identity
What comes to mind when your name pops up? Know and establish that. When names like T. D Jakes Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Maya Angelou, Simon Cowell, Jesus Christ, Uncle Ebo Whyte, Gifty Anti, and most recently Akuapim Poloo what comes to mind? (in no particular order). Your self-identity goes beyond your name.
SELF-IDENTITY IS WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU STAND FOR
Wait a minute. I didn’t say who people think you are or who people think you stand for. I said who you are. SO, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Who you think you are and what you stand for is what reflects on others, probably generations. This is an inner conviction irrespective of what the world thinks.
THE FIRE WHICH IS ON THE INSIDE IS DIFFICULT TO QUENCH WITH WATER FROM THE OUTSIDE.
THE FIRE MAY GO DIM BUT THERE’S ALWAYS A SPARK.
Eventually what is on the inside will overflow on the outside.

You need to be clear about establishing your self-identity and this is how to do it.
-
Your opinion of yourself matters a lot. Get it cleared.
Take the first slot at asking yourself who you are, what you stand for, and why?
What people think does not matter as much. Just be true to yourself and respect yourself.
-
Learn to be alone sometimes…..and be happy
Some people cannot be alone without their family and friends; I mean, without them, they just exist. Nothing to do, no meaning in life at all. It’s good to have them around. After all, no man is an island but too much dependence on them and they get tired of you. What makes you unique? Are you always in someone’s space? Give yourself some me-time too to recharge. Then you can give off more energy in your relationships.
This world, I can’t kill myself oo- Dwen wo ho wati (mind your business)
Enjoy your own company, treat yourself well. Dress up nicely, look yourself up in the mirror every day, and compliment yourself. Get that wine and cake you’ve been craving for.
How you treat yourself reflects how you treat others and how you treat others shows them how you want to be treated.
-
Surround yourself with people who can level up to treat you like how you value yourself.
Don’t throw your pearls to swine. People who do not respect your values ought to be kept as such.
Values are values irrespective of social status.
It shows you what a person is made of. Invest in quality relationships; relationships that build and not tear down. Keep your sanity intact. Peace of mind is a gift.
Be yourself but know that whatever you do or say impacts others.
Are you a people pleaser? Your self-identity will emerge sooner or later- establish it. You are the only book someone may ever read!
