Ghana Mourns

As tributes pour in, memories flood my heart and exit in tears…..

When my grandfather died, I was there but not present. I was asked to withdraw some funds from the nearest bank for a test he was to undertake. I rushed all I could because I felt particularly uneasy that day. Unfortunately, I was told, after I returned, that he passed on soon after I left. It broke me! 😪

Recently, I attended the funeral of the first son of a good friend. Just seeing her wail like a baby…… I couldn’t hold back my tears all day.

I call to check up on her from time to time. The message is loud; we go silent for minutes and end the call, reading each other’s minds. Hmmmm……

The sleepless nights…….

The dreams………..

Hmmmmm……

A Message for the Rest of Us

Do you know when your time will come?

What impact are you making on Earth?

What is your purpose, and are you fulfilling it?

Mend the cracks; do better.

Let tomorrow be an improvement of the life you live today, not for others, but for yourself, your generation, and, for a higher call, your maker.

Ghana Mourns: Here are 5 lessons we can learn as individuals and proud citizens of our motherland, Ghana

  1. Political affiliations mean nothing when souls are involved.

  2. The place of prayer and a daily walk with God cannot be overemphasised.

  1. Emotional Intelligence is a crucial trait in all spheres of life, even in media coverage.

As news of these departed souls spread like wildfire, are we sensitive to the feelings and wishes of the families?

At the onset, live videos of the burning bodies at the scene and other sensitive footage were circulating on social media, not only from bloggers but also from professional media houses.

What about the cameras shoved in the faces of the spouses and close associates wailing in agony over this shocking news?

Great men do cry!

It’s only human.

Shedding tears doesn’t make you weak.

  1. Mend the cracks… What legacy are you building?

That idea you’re scared of implementing – if you fail, who cares? Isn’t that more important than the pain of not trying at all?

Young or old, no one cares until you make an impact. Be consistent, build small every day, and be your #1 fan. Learn from lessons and make it happen!

After death, your education, qualifications, properties, and money don’t matter to you, but they matter to those you leave behind, if any.

The people whose lives were affected by you will eventually move on, with the soft qualities they embodied from the path you travelled while alive.

Whether you like it or not, people will admire, notice, and take lessons from you; you might never know or meet them.

The most important qualities stem from family life, religion, and other social encounters with friends and colleagues.

Integrity, love, honesty, patriotism, etc., are needed in all spheres of life.

Why care?

Purpose!

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward and that the Master you are serving is Christ. 25 But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favourites.

Colossians 3:23 (NLT)

It is well!
