People who grow and produce great results don’t just run after degrees, or business ventures but strategically add VALUE to themselves. What you can offer is what you will be offered. In actual fact, you can never be paid enough for how much you’re worth, as a human being with unique capabilities. Unfortunately, the world rewards you based on your results. So, who are you, and what can you offer? This may need reflection if you already haven’t thought of it.

Growth is an all-encompassing field. It applies in our spiritual lives, academic, physical growth, career path, mental development, and finances. The Holy Book espouses that there is nothing new under the sun. Every thought we have had, are having, and will have, has already occurred to someone before. The only difference is in putting that thought into action and obtaining the desired results. This is not a cliché when you have experienced it in one way or the other. If you do it your way, I mean, legally of course, “nobody” can copy you.
Students, with the same qualification, talents, or skills, in the same class produce different results though they are taught by the same teachers and have the same handouts. Children, even twins, have the same parents, same training, and under the same circumstances or environment but never react the same way in many circumstances. Christians who attend the same church, receive the same sermons, and participate in the same activities, may grow spiritually on different planes. In the same vein, some people with the same financial status as others, outgrow them to become financial giants.
What is the secret?
Growth. Oh, I almost forgot there’s no secret under the sun. Raw talent and skills is …just raw, value is far more than that.
Growth or value addition may be boring, especially when you’re in a field that does not interest you. However, It is never boring when you learn about what interests you the most. Thank God for the internet. Value addition is not very challenging. At least you can read this, and many other educative materials to expand your scope. In this COVID-19 era, online learning has been of extreme importance. Digitalization has become the new “ish”. One of the most unfortunate things that can happen to you now is not taking advantage of new opportunities.
How to grow?
Learning. I took 2 online courses on blogging and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) from a Ghanaian couple. Yes! Ghanaian. “You de3 be there and be blaming aban for all your problems. Na waa ohh”. To know more about their services, check them out.
SEO and web-building training programmes. It’s totally worth it, plus, you get an e-book to sort yourself out at any point in time.
This skyrocketed my business awareness creation and of course, sales (began in December 2020) with weeks of additional intensive research. Talk about value creation? Bam, there you go!
To add value to yourself in your chosen field, or even if you’re stuck in a job that you don’t like, you can learn more about what interests you to prepare you for the kind of opportunities you need. Some come at a cost, but many of these programmes are also free. Some of these may not be suitable for Ghanaian job-seekers living in Ghana, so you’re not left out if you’re in the Diasporan.
